1604.14    Designation of Domestic Representative by Foreign Owner

An owner that is not domiciled in the United States may file a document designating the name, email address, and postal address of a person residing in the United States on whom notices or process in proceedings affecting the mark may be served. 15 U.S.C §1058(f); 37 C.F.R §2.24(a)-(b). The mere designation of a domestic representative, however, does not authorize the person designated to represent the owner. 37 C.F.R §2.24(c). See TMEP §610 for more information regarding designating a domestic representative.
