1613.14 Designation of Domestic Representative by Foreign Holder
If the holder of the international registration of the mark is not domiciled in the United States, the affidavit or declaration may include the name, email address, and postal address of a U.S. resident on whom notices or process in proceedings affecting the registration may be served. 15 U.S.C §1141k(f); 37 C.F.R §2.24(a)-(b). The mere designation of a domestic representative, however, does not authorize the person designated to represent the holder. 37 C.F.R §2.24(c). See TMEP §610 regarding designation of a domestic representative by parties not domiciled in the United States.
